Our Services for Employers
Businesses who invest in their workforce put themselves ahead of the curve in terms of increasing their productivity and in being better positioned to win new business.
Investing in your staff makes sound business sense, especially with recent changes in UK law. The Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007 came into force on April 6th 2008. Under the new law, the authorities have stated that they will actively pursue and investigate a company where an employee is involved in a road accident:
“It is a requirement that the police investigate all incidents as unlawful killing until the contrary is proved’. Investigations into how and, more importantly, why collisions occur are frequently identifying failures in company policies and practices. Developments in Road Policing are increasingly likely to make such failures transparent to the courts.”
Ian Brooks, Chief Inspector of the Metropolitan Police Service.
Being able to demonstrate that your business has an effective training programme in place where your employees are trained to recognised standards may mitigate the chances of prosecution.
Who We Are
Logistics Learning World (LLW) is a training provider specialising in meeting the training needs of the transport and haulage sector. We provide on site training and assessment for National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) specifically geared for the logistics industry. We are dedicated to delivering training that satisfies the needs and priorities of the industry and our skilled and experienced staff work with employees, enabling them to realise their potential through tailored on site structured vocational courses.
“The Logistics Learning World team came in and worked around our operation causing a minimum of fuss, quickly inducting and signing the drivers onto the programme and carrying out their assessments on the road. The assessors have also been giving useful advice on fuel efficiency and driver hours, which can only be of benefit to our operation.”
Steve Quinn, Transport Manager, Ennstone Johnstone.
Our teams of profilers, assessors and internal verifiers are second to none, all of whom are occupationally qualified. All assessment is carried out on work premises or in-vehicle as necessary, at a time to suit your business – whether it’s a night time shift or a morning run – we aim to minimize any disruption to your working day.
We are able to source Government funding for the NVQs that we deliver - meaning that in most cases there is little to no cost to you.
“When I heard about the NVQs for vehicle drivers, I saw they would be a real benefit to the refuse and cleansing team. Looking at the long term picture, I think the NVQs will provide our staff with good qualifications that they can take with them in the future as they develop their roles and careers. We have a lot of HGV drivers and with the Driver CPC EU Directive coming in next year, we’re mindful of making sure we are preparing adequately.”
Steve Jowett, Refuse and Cleansing Manager (Street Scene), North East Derbyshire District Council.

“Driver training is a good thing. When Logistics Learning World contacted us and explained how they could help, we immediately saw the benefits this would bring to our services. We operate in a public environment and have a duty to ensure that we work safely at all times. The NVQs that our employee drivers will achieve will help to strengthen our good practice and greatly contribute towards other important work in respect to CO2 emissions.”
