Road Passenger Vehicle Driving, NVQ Level 2

Level 2 NVQ in Road Passenger Vehicle Driving is suitable for taxi drivers (including Hackney carriage and private hire drivers), chauffeurs and community transport drivers - candidates are expected to be working in one of these areas. On commencing this qualification candidates must hold, or be eligible to hold, all required licenses, as driving a vehicle is an essential requirement of this NVQ.

The qualification explores a range of areas that drivers may face as part of their role, such as dealing with emergencies, transporting children, customer service and safe driving practise.

To achieve the whole qualification at Level 2, a candidate must prove competence in 7 Mandatory units and 2 Option units. Candidates choose the most applicable pathway in relation to their job role from the three pathways available for this NVQ:
