Driving Goods Vehicles, NVQ Level 3
The Level 3 Qualification is for drivers who can show broader driving competencies and be considered as professional goods vehicle drivers.
This qualification therefore builds on the competencies required for the Level 2 Qualification. This qualification also requires skills to be shown whilst driving a goods vehicle that is laden with a typical load. Optional units give candidates the opportunity to show competence in other areas; obtaining information about the collection and delivery of loads, planning routes and timings, loading vehicles, coupling and uncoupling vehicles.

- DGV4 Monitoring the loading of the vehicle by others
- DGV6 Completing pre-driving preparations
- DGV7 Maintaining the safety and the security of the load, self and property
- DGV8 Maintaining awareness of driving conditions
- DGV9 Operating the vehicle systems
- DGV10 Driving the vehicle on public roads
- DGV11 Driving the vehicle in restricted spaces
- DGV13 Driving the vehicle safely and efficiently on public roads
